Industry Recognition & Commitment
Conexus MedStaff was named a top 10 Fastest Growing U.S. Staffing Firm by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) in 2020 and 2021, most recently ranked sixth out of the 52 companies that qualified. Additionally, Conexus MedStaff was presented with the American Staffing Association’s Elevate Award for its nursing education program that supports the growth of Conexus MedStaff nurses.
As the world continues to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, nursing shortages in the U.S. have accelerated further. Internationally educated nurses are more highly in-demand than ever before, and that trend is projected to continue. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) states that the employment of registered nurses will grow 9% from 2020 to 2030, with about 194,500 openings for registered nurses projected each year, on average, over the decade.
Conexus MedStaff is dedicated to fill gaps within the healthcare system by offering long-term staffing solutions to healthcare facilities while providing quality assistance to OFW nurses and medical technologists who wish to advance their careers in the U.S.
To further demonstrate this commitment, Conexus MedStaff recently launched an NCLEX Sponsorship Program designed to help international nurses obtain the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), a key requirement to work as a nurse in the U.S. The program includes personalized training and support in preparation to take the exam and nurse candidates that have completed our program so far have a 97% pass rate. In addition to the NCLEX Sponsorship Program, Conexus offers nurses continuing education scholarships, ongoing critical and non-clinical education and support, virtual training simulations and career pathway opportunities and advancement.
Conexus MedStaff NCLEX Sponsorship Program:
Welcoming Qualified Nurses
One of the ways Conexus MedStaff is unique is that all qualified nurses can join their program. They offer placements for nurses who have experience serving in a 50-bed capacity facility and above. Therefore, it is not a requirement to have Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital experience with a facility of 300-beds and above.
To streamline the journey towards working in the U.S. candidates can submit their application right after graduation.
Even without any working experience or current employment, nursing graduates are still welcome to submit an application and they will be considered for an interview.
With Conexus MedStaff, being currently employed is not a requirement unlike other U.S. employers. Upon passing the interview stage, qualified nurses can continue to gain work experience while their application is being processed. This means that Conexus MedStaff only requires nurses to have two years of bedside experience at the time of their deployment to the U.S. rather than three, like many U.S. employers require.
The intention is that qualified candidates may be able to deploy within 12-18 months, dependent upon immigration processing times, and allows candidates the opportunity to obtain a total of two to three years of experience by the time they immigrate to the U.S.
International healthcare professionals choose to start their U.S. career with Conexus MedStaff for a variety of reasons, including free visa sponsorship, expert support in the areas of immigration and licensing, the placement of one facility per assignment, endless U.S. career opportunities through career pathway planning and commitment to success, among other unique rewards and benefits.
Beyond Deployment, Preparing Nurses for the U.S.
Deployment is a big milestone in the U.S. application process. But it’s only the first step towards making the dream to work abroad a reality. The next part of an OFW’s journey begins upon arrival at their new work destination. And it’s not easy. One Filipina nurse says, “For me, it’s like living on another planet.”
Conexus MedStaff is committed to helping international healthcare professionals navigate their new life, work environment and community through their Conexus Academy program. It is especially designed by Conexus MedStaff’s clinically trained team to set up OFWs for success and helps them overcome various challenges before they even begin working. OFWs can learn about the U.S. healthcare system, practicing in the U.S., the nurse lead environment of U.S. hospitals and the social aspects of living in a new country. It also assists OFWs in learning how to navigate cultural nuances that are often experienced by international healthcare professionals in the U.S. workforce.
Smooth Transition
In addition to the program itself, OFWs are also enrolled in a Clinical Orientation Program at their new workplace. The Clinical Orientation lasts for 12-14 weeks and helps ensure a smooth transition for healthcare professionals. This means that for the first three months, healthcare professionals will get to work alongside a preceptor and receive continuous support as they become familiar with their new workplace. The goal is for all healthcare professionals to feel confident in their new role by the end of the Clinical Orientation period.
