How to Complete the POEA e-Registration Profile
Looking for employment overseas? Wait – read this first before applying for a job!
Many Filipinos are searching for opportunities to work abroad. They dream of a better quality of life. And they believe that landing a highly paid job in another country can make their dreams a reality.
We can’t argue with the fact that this dream has indeed come true for many Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). They’ve worked hard and provided a good life for their families. In fact, we encourage Pinoys to seek work abroad. A new job abroad can lead to career progression and development of their expertise. We’re not just saying this because we’re a recruitment agency.
We’ve witnessed such profound changes in thousands of OFW’s lives in the decades we’ve worked with them. Their success shines a light for all those who wish to follow in their path.
However, overseas employment is complicated and risky. Some applicants become vulnerable targets and become victims of illegal recruiters. We’ve written about the most common practices of illegal recruiters in our previous post.
If you’re thinking about working abroad, you must first learn about the requirements and registration process set out by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). It is the agency responsible for monitoring the recruitment and employment of Filipino workers abroad. Here’s another article to help you learn more about this.
To continue protecting the growing number of OFWs, the POEA e-Registration System was established. It facilitates the online registration of applicants for overseas jobs.

What is the POEA E-Registration System?
The POEA e-Registration System records the information of aspiring overseas workers. Without exception, all workers must register through the online platform. It is mandatory for OFWs prior to their exit. Applicants will receive a registration number after their registration process is completed.
The POEA officially launched Version 2 of the POEA e-Registration System on November 2019. Users of the old system (Version 1) can still use their accounts to log in but will need to activate their accounts and log in using a temporary password.
Since the system is newly developed, don’t be surprised if you encounter some errors or if you see that some features are not yet available. If you are experiencing slowness, try refreshing the browser. Or try again at a later time. It’s possible that many users are using the system at the same time and this may overload the server.
What do I need to do to register?
Among other things, the POEA is responsible for processing all your documents prior to you leaving the country. As an applicant, it is your duty to comply with all the necessary requirements including the POEA e-registration. It will serve as your online profile to POEA when securing your employment abroad.
For guidance for first-time registrants or those with an e-Registration number, the PEOA has created a manual for your reference.
That’s all there is to it! You’re now ready to create your profile via the POEA e-Registration system. If you have concerns about the whole application process, you may send an email at info@poea.gov.ph, or call them directly at 722-11-44 or 722-11-55.
